To Protect Your Privacy, Read This First

When you visit websites, your navigation software (browser), i.e., Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape, keeps a record of where you have been (your "history"). Depending on how your software was set up and which version of the software you are using, this history record may or may not automatically be deleted. To ensure that no one can trace your steps, you need to delete the record.

There are four sets of instructions, one for each of the following: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, Netscape Communicator 4.7, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (Mac version), and Netscape 7.0 (Mac version). Even if you are not using one of these, read through the instructions to get an idea what to look for in your browser.

Determine what software you are using and then choose the corresponding set of instructions (below). If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will see an icon with a small "e" in the upper right. If you are using Netscape, you will see an icon with a capital "N" in the upper right of the screen.

We suggest that you quickly read through the set of instructions applicable to you before proceeding to use the OakNet site. By doing so, you will be in a better position to delete your history when you are ready to sign off.
