RCMP - Police
Dial-A-Law: Pre-recorded legal information messages available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Golden Circle Seniors Centre - Outreach Program Lawyer Referral Service (operated by the Law Society
of Alberta): Provides assistance to people who can afford to pay a lawyer
but require help finding one. Legal Aid Society of Alberta: Provides legal services
to financially eligible applicants.
Office of the Ombudsman: Conducts impartial investigations
on receipt of written complaints from individuals who believe that they
have been unfairly treated by the provincial government. There are only
two offices in Alberta.
Office of the Public Guardian - Central Region: May be appointed legal guardian
for dependent adults. John Howard Society of Red Deer Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic: CLC offers free
(pro bono) legal advice and services to those who may have difficulty accessing
legal help through other organizations, e.g. Legal Aid, and who cannot afford
to pay a lawyer.
