To Protect Your Privacy in Netscape Communicator 4.7

We suggest that you read this once to get a general sense of the steps before you go through the site. This will serve as a reminder for you to Clear History before you leave the site.

Description of the general steps

1. Clear History (Edit, Preferences, Clear History, Confirm) to delete the record of where you have been. This record can be found by clicking "Go" on the top tool bar.

2. Clear Location Bar (Edit, Preferences, Clear Location Bar, Confirm) to delete the location of the websites that you visited. This record can be found on the tool bars beside "Location".
This is the last thing to do before you get off the Web.

CLEAR HISTORY

Click "Edit". You will be shown a pull-down menu. Move your cursor to "Preferences" and click.

When you see this screen, move your cursor to "Clear History" and click once.

Click "OK" to confirm.

CLEAR LOCATION BAR

After you've cleared your history, you are returned to the Preferences screen.

Move your cursor to "Clear Location Bar" and click.

Click "OK" to confirm.

Close the Preferences Menu by pressing "OK".

Once you click "OK", the list of sites that you have visited will be deleted.

After you have cleared history and cleared location bar, note that the "Location" bar is blank. Now you can close Netscape and sign off.
